A beautiful pure white African Lily, Agapanthus africanus ‘Albus’ is a popular evergreen perennial. The glossy, strap-shaped leaves form large clumps, above which umbels of white flowers appear on tall stems in late summer. Making a graceful prescence in the garden, grow Agapanthus in patio containers or en masse in sheltered sunny borders. This stunning hardy perennial is excellent for Mediterranean themed planting or for creating a contemporary feel to the garden. Height: 1m (39″). Spread: 50cm (19″).

Plant Agapanthus in a sunny position in moist, well drained soil. Water well to settle the soil. Alternatively, grow Agapanthus in containers using soil based compost such as John Innes No.3 and position in full sun.
Feed and water regularly throughout the growing season. Leave faded Agapanthus flower stems intact to enjoy their architectural qualities until they become blackened by frost. Border grown plants will benefit from the winter protection of an autumn mulch of well rotted manure or garden compost. Container grown Agapanthus plants can be moved to a frost free position over winter.
