The world’s first red rudbeckia. Sumptuous cherry red flowers up to 10cm (4″) across are borne on robust plants all summer long. Grow this half-hardy annual in bold blocks to provide height in annual bedding schemes, or use it to fill gaps in colourful herbaceous borders. Rudbeckia ‘Cherry Brandy’ forms a good-sized branching plant, and makes an excellent cut flower for a vase indoors. Height: 60cm (24″). Spread: 35cm (14″). Supplied as plug tray plants.

Pot up plug plants into 9cm pots and grow them on in frost free conditions. When plugs are fully rooted into their pots and all risk of frost has passed, acclimatise them to outdoor conditions over 7 to 10 days and transplant into borders. Choose a position in sun or semi shade on heavy, well drained, fertile soil. Add some well rotted manure or garden compost to the soil prior to planting. Firm the Coneflower plant into the ground and water well to settle the soil. Feed and water regularly.
Deadhead faded rudbeckia flowers to encourage more blooms to be produced.
