At last here’s a wonderful hardy perennial verbena that’s much more compact than it’s well known parent Verbena bonariensis. This highly versatile plant produces the same clustered florets of bright purple blooms but on shorter stems for a neater and fuller effect. The perfect size for growing in patio pots, beds and borders, Verbena bonariensis ‘Lollipop’ will flower in abundance from July until October, attracting butterflies and bees to its nectar-rich blooms. Height and spread: 60cm (24″).

Plant Verbena bonariensis ‘Lollipop’ in containers, beds or borders, in moist, well-drained soil in full sun.
Feed and water verbena plants regularly until fully established. In autumn, cover the base of the plant with a dry mulch such as bark chips or straw to protect the crown from winter weather. Place container-grown specimens against a wall or wrap the pot in bubble wrap or fleece to protect the roots. Cut back faded stems in the spring when new shoots start to emerge.
