Pot up wallflower plants using free-draining compost, and grow them on in frost free conditions until large enough to plant outside. When plants are well grown, acclimatise them to outdoor conditions over 7 to 10 days before planting outdoors on free draining soil in full sun. Erysimum plants are tolerant of most neutral or alkaline soils and will even cope well on very poor soils. Garden Ready plug plants can be planted straight out in the garden provided that there are no forecasts of frost.

Feed and water erysimum plants until they are fully established. Trim back wallflowers after flowering to prevent them from becoming leggy.
